Support for GAWA

The Netherlands Committee of IUCN through the Tropical Rainforest Programme (TRP) and Dry Areas Support funds has been very instrumental in initiating the regional network. Through direct budget support to its regional focal point, the Environmental Foundation for Africa (SL), NC-IUCN have enabled all country assessments, holding of regional network meetings and capacity building training programmes for their partners in the sub-region.

Such support has been founded on the premise that ‘small projects grants’ can have wider and much more positive impacts if the partners they support individually can coordinate their efforts and work in a collaborative manner.

L’ APPUI POUR GAWA

L’ IUCN-NC, á travers le programme de la forêt Tropicale Humide et les Zones Sèches.
Des financements d’ appui ont beaucoup aide a initier/créer le réseau regional. Des fonds ont été fournis pour le devoir d’ evaluation des pays, la convocation des reunions régionales du réséau, ansi que les séminares, les programmes pour le renforcement des capacities des partenaires dans la sous-région.

L’ avis general c’ est, que les “prêts petits projets” sont capables de créer, encore advantage, un impact encore plus positif, si les partenaires, appuyés individuellement, arrivent á coordoner leurs efforts et leur travail d’ une maniére collaborative
